August 19: Tell us: How do you share happiness?

Today is the final day of the Celebrate Community Blog Hop.  It’s been a really amazing event.  I feel so much closer to my readers and to those whose blogs I read as a part of this.  Thank you so much for sharing of yourself and giving.  This wasn’t a book tour or a promo event like so many of these hops are, this was just for the fun of it and to help us all get to know each other a little better.  I look forward to doing something like this again next year.  I hope you’ll join me then.

Today’s prompt is about happiness and how we share it.  For me, happiness is a moving target, something I always  have difficulty pinning down.  But I know I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by the people I love.  I’ve gotten to the point in my life where I no longer try to force friendships with people with whom it’s not meant to be.  I can enjoy people as who they are without feeling like they have to like me.  The people I call true friends are those I can be myself with, who I can let my guard down around and not worry about being judged to gossiped about.

I am a physical person.  I like to touch and be touched.  I have been known to hold hands with friends, love to hug and snuggle and tend to always have a term of endearment at the ready.  I love big.  I love hard.  I find happiness in making my friends happy.  Both my first love and my husband have said being loved by me can be uncomfortable, even a little overwhelming.  I don’t know how else to do it. Now, even my friends who aren’t as touchy feely as I am are used to it and roll their eyes.  But they will never wonder how I feel about them.  They will never worry if I’m mad at them, because if I am I will tell them.  I wear my heart on my sleeve and give of it without reservation.  Yes, it’s been broken, but the love I’ve received in return is more than worth it.
