Celebrating Community Blog Hop!
I talk a lot about the great online community I’m in. I’ve been lucky to not have to deal with much of the cyber bullying and haters. They’re out there, and it pops up now and then, but for the most part I’ve been blessed with some real genuine friends. In my real life too, my neighborhood is kind of like Mayberry, but with lesbians, which makes it all the better in my opinion.
We are currently in the month of Ramadan, a time of introspection, reflection, self-improvement, and spiritual devotion. While I’m not Muslim, you can probably already tell that I have an interest in religion and spirituality, and the rituals and practices that go along with both. For me, at the core of religion is our connection to each other, our community.
Ramadan concludes with Eid al-Fitr (“Eid” means festivity, while “Fitr” means breaking the fast), a celebration of community, togetherness, unity, and—yes—food. This year, I want to celebrate the breaking of the fast with you, my community.
If you check out the EID EVENT page on my blog you’ll see a list of awesome bloggers who are participating and an even more awesome list of prizes being given away. All in the spirit of community. All you have to do is post during any/all of the events listed below and enter yourself into the giveaway. I hope you’ll post, comment, and get to know your community a little better.
