Batman is a way of thinking By Mosno Al-Moseeki

We all have our favorite superhero(s), some fly, some walk through walls, some transform, but there is only one who I think has the power to defeat any foe. Batman.

There are SO many things I can say about his sheer bad-assery, lets start from the beginning. He combined the tragic death of his parents, his fear of bats, & turned them into an unstoppable force of justice. I believe his superpower is his intelligence, he is more like a super detective than anything else, & I would have to say that out of all the superheroes, I think he is the most believable one. He’s a wealthy man, who does a lot of push-ups, & has the coolest toys on the planet. He doesn’t fly, or shoot lasers from his eyes, AND his alter-ego has a normal name “Bruce Wayne”, not some rhyming mambo jumbo. And yes, I refer to “Bruce” as the alter-ego, because if you watch/read carefully, Batman is always present, putting the puzzles together, making sure everyone who is supposed to be there, is there, which is one more reason for me to relate to him. As a musician, I’m constantly alert to new surroundings, because you never know what will inspire you to write a song, or a poem, or lyric.

Have you noticed that most of Batman’s villains have super powers? Or have been infected by some kind of toxin that warps their perspective of reality? & Batman always finds a “logical” way to defeat them. I personally think that is a powerful statement, it shows that you can defeat any obstacle, if you put your “mind” to it.

Batman has some how connected to several parts of my life, which only makes me love him even more. My favorite band on the PLANET is U2, how is that connected to Batman you ask? Well, one of the many animated series created, is one called “The Batman”, and the intro to that series was composed & played by The Edge of U2. Also they provided the song “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me” to one of the Batman movie soundtracks.

Lets jump into the future for a bit, Batman Beyond, one of my super favorite series of the Dark Knight. In that series you get introduced to an aged Bruce Wayne, he’s old & not able to be Batman anymore, and ends up training a young man Terry McGuiness, who reminds him a bit of himself as a young man, & its placed in the future, so you get a cool new Bat-Suite, and some very futuristic weapons. So you see, as the years go by, Batman ages, like a real person.

I ultimately think that Batman is a state of mind, no doubt. He always uses his skills as a detective, to determine what is the best logical way to solve a problem, without hurting any innocent people in the process. Yes other superheroes use their thinking caps at times as well, BUT they have other un-natural abilities they can use in case Plan A doesn’t work out, like bash through the wall, or teleport. But with Batman, he has no other power, his mind, & intelligence are his power. The gadgets are tools to carry out the great ideas he comes up with, but I have seen the gadget belt get snatched from him before, but he STILL finds a way to get the job done, using his intellect. So the gadgets are more of a quick & efficient way of execution than anything else, because you can have all the tools in the world, but if you don’t know how to use them, then they are no good to you.
Thank you Bob Kane, for making being a “Human”, a Superhero.

Batman is freakin’ King!

Much Love.
